Quercus frainetto, sometimes known as the Italian Oak, was first brought into the UK in the 1830s and has stunning foliage which is one of its main interests. Its large, dark green leaves have been seen at a length of 20cm in length which provides a great display, especially during summer.

The Hungarian Oak is a tall tree, reaching between 17 and 20m when mature with a broad rounded crown. It is found with regularly lobed and long, rigid leaves which turn to a yellow colour during autumn creating a magnificent display. With its heavy, ascending branches, Hungarian Oak can look very impressive when bare during winter.

This magnificent specimen can tolerate most soil types and will thrive on well drained soils. A perfect selection for Urban and Rural use.
